Jeff Bishop
Jeff Bishop is a clean energy entrepreneur. He most recently was the CEO, board member and co-founder of Key Capture Energy, where he built the company from an idea to a billion dollar energy storage Independent Power Producer with 95 employees and 624 MW of operating and under construction battery storage projects. Jeff led many of the energy storage industry's firsts, from utility-scale projects in new states to creating a machine-learning energy storage trading platform.
Jeff first started in clean energy in Morocco in 2002 working for a wind energy developer, and over the next two decades, across several continents, has focused at the intersection of finance, technology, and policy. Before starting Key Capture Energy in 2016, Jeff held roles at Brookfield Renewable and EDP Renewables in Market Design, State Policy, Financial Planning & Control, Corporate Development, Project Development and Financial Analysis. Jeff has served on clean energy advocacy boards at the federal, regional and state levels, most recently with Advanced Energy Economy and the Energy Storage Association.
Jeff holds a MBA from Chicago Booth and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University. He has testified before legislative and regulatory bodies in over ten states, is a frequent panelists at energy conferences, and is a popular guest on energy podcasts. Outside of work, Jeff is a tenacious bicycle commuter, a mediocre skier, a world traveler, a LGBT and DEI advocate, and an angel investor supporting the energy transition.
Dan Mullen
Communications and Strategy
Dan Mullen brings two decades of climate and energy experience to helping EPDI fulfill its mission, including nine years as an energy policy advocate. He currently works as an independent consultant (dan-mullen.com) helping leading cleantech companies, research institutions, consulting firms and nonprofits develop substantive content and secure resources for growth.
Dan has published bylined and ghostwritten thought leadership pieces (including with EPDI founder Ted Ko), written industry reports and write papers, developed legislative and regulatory testimony, crafted a broad range of marketing content, and edited research and analysis published by the U.S. Dept. of Energy, the consultancy E3, the journal Nature Energy, and others. He has also helped nonprofit, private and public sector organizations secure more than $30 million from competitive solicitations. Dan earned a B.A. in political science from Stanford University.
